About Me
My name is Ashley Heber. I live in West Jordan with my husband and three children.
I graduated from Westminster College with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with an ESL minor. I am certified to teach PreK-8th grade in the state of Utah.
I have over 10 years experience working with and teaching children. I taught preschool while in college and taught in public schools before I quit to stay home with my children. It’s been a dream of mine to get back to teaching preschool. Preschoolers are the best! They are so inquisitive and excited about everything. It is my goal to help them keep their excitement and inquisitiveness while also providing a safe, loving, fun, learning environment. My curriculum is well-rounded with appropriate amounts of play, teaching time, music, movement, stories, science, math, writing, art, and hands-on activities. The main focus in early childhood is for children to begin to value learning, gain knowledge, and understand their world. I believe this happens when children are given the time and space to explore and play while having someone to help lead them to a more complex understanding of their world.
With classroom management, I believe in being explicit with expectations. I am respectful with the children and expect them to be respectful of me and the other students. I am loving but am firm with expecting appropriate behavior from each child.
